concept & vision
a fully upcycled structure acts as the core of this very early concern with recycling, as a central video theatre to learn about the environment and creative responses by artists
design & architecture
8 refrigerators are lifted by a steel scaffolding and wood-stud structure. Naked TV sets are inserted in their open doors, screens toward the inside, to create a circle of video images as watched from the center of the structure
program & use
visitors enter this theater and sit on horizontal pipes wrapped with convoluted foam to watch the video feed, in a shared and slightly uncomfortable viewing experience
impact & significance
8 truly messed-up refrigerators and 8 truly old TV-sets reset our posture toward things dismissed, very early on, when the world UPCYCLE was not around
