WE START WITH THE THINGS WE FIND
a collection of lights reuses disposable packaging and their amazing formations

clear, pigmented rubber cast in packaging molds + neon tubes
SF MoMA / Tom Healy & Fred Hochberg / Sherri Wolf / Melanie Ide & Christiaan Kuypers
concept & vision
we marvel at the shapes and complexity of vacuum-formed packaging, and decide to explore them differently, through light. We cast neon tubes in rubber, using discarded vacuum-formed packaging as the mold, as a series of light fixtures that celebrate the packaging landscape and topography
impact & significance
we encourage pause, and cultivate looking at ordinary, disposable objects twice. The candy-colored lights are complex and playful, obvious and surprising - we care for this tension
