WE START WITH THE THINGS WE FIND
concept & vision
an open square, rotated off the grid, collects existing creatives and retail within the South side community in direct relation to the Obama Presidential Center to optimize synergy.
design & architecture
classrooms, meeting areas and shops are organized around an open courtyard. We enhance permeability and open, fluid access from the surrounding streets
impact & significance
we conceive the structure as a complement to the Obama Presidential Center by supporting the existing South side community, while also offering a mirror lookout point to the new center
