concept & vision
we transform a hotel room and its bed experience. A volume, composed of old TVs strapped together, hangs off the ceiling, a perfect mirror to the volume of the bed right below it. Different monitors with varied orientation force a different use of the bed, where viewing is horizontal and viewers surf channels moving their body over the bed, the pillow layout also mirroring the multiplicity of directions
impact & significance
the project is part of Henry Urbach Architecture's installation in a suite at the Gramercy Hotel, with Jürgen Mayer/J.MAYER.H. taking on the first bed with their project LIE, a limited-edition series of temperature-sensitive bedsheets that record the body's movements and positions, and Yolande Daniels’ Femme Pissoire, a prototype standing urinal for women. A tribute to Henry's vision to collect and connect amazing people!
