concept & vision

depending on the size of the tank and the surrounding environment / provided with sufficient space / a water tower is tipped over and dismantled / when space is limited instead / a crane deconstructs the structure in parts / in both cases / parts are loaded on to a truck and taken to a local salvage yard / discarded

design & architecture

we reuse 8 municipal water tanks for an urban library. The tanks are packed to fit the lot, slivered along the edges for light and city views, and lifted to create an urban public space below

an urban public space that can help us imagine other futures
