concept & vision

we conceive a flexible space that transforms from day to night - from co-working to hotel - being in full use at all times

design & architecture

we carve the inside of a container stack to generate an atrium surrounded by stepping balconies fitted for shared work space. The resulting geometry and pattern inform the glazing on the exterior with varying degrees of aperture

program & use

at every floor, private spaces are designed to transform from overnight-sleep-mode to daytime-work-mode, turning from private hotel rooms at night to private offices during the day. They open directly onto the stepping balconies and the large communal atrium

impact & significance

we support a vision for higher density and shared space, and for a flexible, transformable, hybrid use. Hotel guests pay less for letting others use the room as a private office during the day. Hideaway beds turn into office workstations, and lockable storage makes it comfortable, seamless, and safe. Co-working members get private offices on demand, plus in-house coffee, meals and hotel amenities. Anyone can drop-in and book space by the hour, or just hang out in the atrium lobby for refreshments, meet-ups, and free wifi
