concept & vision
a residential building in the beautiful Marigny in New Orleans on a large lot along the Mississippi River, previously one of the warehouses lining the river edge. We stack containers to create open and public spaces, great residential units, private and public terraces and plenty of parking on the ground
design & architecture
we stack containers with great attention to the fabric of the neighborhood, using the fine grain of the shipping container unit to propose a building as a village or a neighborhood, where residential units are next to, across to and on top of one another, all slightly different, each with its own specific feature and character, all connected through pedestrian paths that act like internal streets
impact & significance
we embrace the challenge of a large scale development within the intimate and interconnected fabric of the Marigny with a building that reads and operates as an assembly of smaller interconnected parts
