concept & vision
a series of drawings, laser-cut on used, flattened, folded, or stacked cardboard boxes - we leave each box as is, with its layer of tape, stickers and labels. We add a new layer of yellow paint, and then we cut, or rather, burn, meticulous laser-cutting the cardboard surface / an UrbanScan Atlas, a photographic codex of our mapping of urban, infrastructural things, 'a kind of autobiography of LOT-EK way of seeing', in the words of gallerist and curator Todd Alden / 56 UrbanScan Blocks, yellow legal pads, 50 images each (the amount of pages of a pad) from one UrbanScan category, one image only visible on the wall
impact & significance
an experiment with the mundane material of everyday supplies, and a reflection on the movement of commodities within our culture
