concept & vision

URBANSCAN atlas is a compendium, an archive of the full image bank, as of 2016, of our mapping of objects and systems, things and infrastructure, urban typologies, leftovers. The atlas catalogs our inspirations and our actual material objects, organizing photos through straightforward categories, as in our studio archive. The book is a single artifact, printed on vellum and handbound. It registers, on its front and back covers, the landmark of over 17,000 photos in 2016 and the start date of our practice of urbanscanning in 1990
