concept & vision

Welcome Box is a gateway that welcomes visitors at Lime Street Station, the entrance to the city from the train

design & architecture

a 40-foot long shipping container, open on both its short sides, allows visitors and locals to walk through and experience images and sound that introduce them to the contents of the Livepool Biennial. Two parallel corridors divide the container lengthwise. Each corridor is lined with monitors and a mirror on their opposite side

program & use

biennial visitors leave the train to enter the Welcome Box, in two separate spaces with monitors and their reflections either on opposite walls, or on floor and ceiling

impact & significance

bringing the Biennial to public space and to the general public of a train station, through a spatial multi-media experience
